Update from 12:57 pm: The lineup of the lions is here and now there is certainty. What was already heard a few minutes before the official announcement of the line-up is confirmed: Captain Stefan Lex is out against the FCI. The thigh problems seem bigger than previously thought. In addition, Leandro Morgalla is initially on the bench. Niklas Lang is again central to the basic defense.
Update from 12:45 pm: A few more minutes and it will be clear whether the captain of the lions, Stefan Lex, will be enough for the base. But the further formation of the TSV can also be anxiously awaited.
First report: Munich – After the lions had to live with a division of points in the guest game against the second representation of Borussia Dortmund, there is now another victory for the table leaders. But for that the Giesingers have to stretch out well, because even though the guests from Ingolstadt are still a bit unstable this season, they still have a team that is equal to that of the Münchener.
TSV 1860 against FC Ingolstadt: No derby for Köllner and Lex
Both Löwen coach Michael Köllner and captain Stefan Lex expect a “tough opponent” at the pre-match press conference, with whom there have often been “hot dances” in the past. Yet both refuse to call the game a derby, even though the distance between the two cities is only about 80 kilometers.
According to Köllner, the clubs are too different to call the 1860 duel against Ingolstadt a derby. While the Giesingers can also count on the loud support of their fans during away matches, the Schanzer’s home matches are often less heard by their own fans. Lex also agrees with his coach’s assessment, who has no choice but to point out his old club: “It’s not a derby for us, it’s more for them.”
TSV 1860: Morgalla and Lex probably both available
Lions fans will be delighted that Leandro Morgalla is likely to return to basics. Against Dortmund II, TSV’s defensive support had to pass due to a minor injury. In Signal Iduna Park, Niklas Lang took the place next to Jesper Verlaat and did not do badly. He should be on the bench again against Ingolstadt.
Captain Stefan Lex, who had to sit out for a week due to a minor thigh injury, will also start. The decision whether it is enough for the starting eleven must be made by the captain himself, Köllner confirmed on match day PK. Lowen keeper Marco Hiller also has a history with Ingolstadt, who was sent off with a red card in the 8th minute of the decisive last game of the 2020/21 season. Much to the delight of the Löwen fans, the secure support from all sides has now made a declaration of loyalty to TSV. (sh)
