As the developers of Sony Santa Monica Studios announced, “God of War: Ragnarök” has officially reached gold status. So the successor comes out next month as planned.

One of the biggest titles of this year’s Christmas sale is without a doubt “God of War: Ragnarök”, with which the developers at Sony Santa Monica Studios aim to bring the story of Norse mythology to a spectacular finale.

As announced by Sony Santa Monica via Twitter, the new adventure of Kratos and Atreus has officially reached gold status. As such, God of War: Ragnarök is heading for duplication and may be released for PlayStation consoles early next month as planned.

As part of today’s announcement, the studio took the opportunity to thank the community for their support.

The developers statement in the wording

“We are pleased to announce that God of War: Ragnarok has reached Gold status,” said developers at Santa Monica Studios. “On behalf of SMS and all our partners, we would like to thank the fans who supported us during development. We’re about to release it and can’t wait for you to play it on November 9th.”

The sequel’s story revolves around the fate of Kratos’ son Atreus, who seeks knowledge that will help him understand Loki’s prophecy. Armed with his Leviathan Axe, Chaos Blades and Guardian Shield, Kratos travels through the worlds of the Yggdrasil Tree of Life, exploring “dangerous and breathtaking landscapes” teeming with countless powerful enemies, according to the developer.

Kratos must decide whether to remain trapped in the fear of repeating his mistakes or break free to be the father Atreus needs.
