Warning about fake offers
PS5 consoles from reputable, mostly non-industrial dealers are currently appearing on the Amazon Marketplace* in the “All Offers” section (e.g. suppliers of gardening, DIY, sports or decoration items). The PS5 will usually do below offered against the RRP.

In almost all cases known to us, it concerns compromised merchant accounts – the access points were therefore hacked (background). It is very likely that the orders will be cancelled. Until further notice, we recommend only ordering the PS5 if the console is offered and sold directly by Amazon.

Update from November 24, 2022 (9:30 a.m.): War god Ragnarok turns out to be the anticipated bestseller, selling more than 5.1 million copies worldwide in the first week since its release on November 9, according to Sony. Sony’s own PlayStation game has never sold faster or more often.

Update from November 24, 2022 (9:15 a.m.): One thing is clear: if Microsoft succeeds in acquiring Activision Blizzard, the video game industry will face major upheavals. That’s exactly what Sony Interactive sees – and protests against the purchase of the Duty-Publishers, even mentioning the PlayStation manufacturer ,Threat’ feels.

Exciting detail from the document: Sony is already planning a PlayStation 6 – unfortunately the exact date has been obscured. Continuing with the previous order (2006 – 2013 – 2020), we are probably talking about 2027.

Spicy detail: Sony is already planning for the PlayStation 6 - and fears Call of Duty will be an Xbox exclusive at this point.

Update from November 24, 2022 (9am): The PS5 ticker inevitably has a relatively large fluctuation in readership: anyone actively interested in buying a PlayStation 5 follows the ticker over several days, weeks, sometimes even months. In addition, there are also many people interested in the industry, for whom the ticker is part of their breakfast coffee – for example, employees of online stores or electronics stores (hello!).

Since there are always new readers who may not be too familiar with the subject, we’ve summarized a few ‘basics’ separately:

More basic articles will follow in the coming days and weeks.

Update from November 23, 2022 (12:30 PM): It’s been exactly two weeks since Otto last offered the PlayStation 5. Like its competitors, Otto is currently focusing on the Black Friday business – there are a number of exciting offers especially for PlayStation owners:

  • PS5 DualSense Controller Cosmic Red for €49.99* (RRP €74.99)
  • PS5 DualSense Controller Starlight Blue for €49.99* (RRP €74.99)
  • PS5 Pulse 3D wireless headset for €74.99* (RRP €99.99)
  • FIFA 23 (PS5) + DualSense wireless controller for €79.99* (instead of €109.99)
  • The Last of Us Part 1 (PS5) for €49.99* (instead of €69.99)

Update from November 23, 2022 (8:45 a.m.): At Amazon, the DualSense controllers* are already sold out at the Black Friday price of €49.99 (instead of €60-70). The gamepads are still available at a special price at MediaMarkt* and Saturn*.

Update from November 23, 2022 (8:30 a.m.): The second half of November is extremely quiet at the moment – with the exception of PlayStation Direct and Euronics*, no significant quotas have entered the market. Part of the explanation certainly lies in the Black Friday environment, which is more focused on games* and accessories.

Those counting on Amazon releasing consoles again after a 14-day break on ‘Amazon Wednesday’ could be lurking between 9am and 11am – there are as few concrete clues as there is a guarantee:

Important: Buying a PS5 from Amazon usually requires an active Prime subscription – if you don’t have one, you can try it for free. For example, students and trainees pay nothing* for the first six months and then half.

Update from November 22, 2022 (4:15 PM): What actually happens with Dutyif Microsoft is allowed to buy the American game manufacturer Activision Blizzard as planned?

This concern not only drives cartel authorities and Sony Interactive, but of course also some PlayStation fans. According to a New York Times report, Microsoft apparently wants to guarantee that Duty will also take place on the PlayStation for the next ten years – so on the PS5 and inevitably also on the PS5 successor.

Update from November 22, 2022 (4:00 PM): For Alternate* there is a package of € 959, consisting of the War god Ragnarokbundle, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieve, and a SteelSeries headset (model Arctis Nova 7P), which costs just under $200 with Alternate. As usual with Alternate, the package cannot be ordered on an ongoing basis – so a bit of persistence is required here.

Update from November 22, 2022 (10:20 AM): In PlayStation Direct, things move quickly: after just 24 hours, the next drop is already available from Sony – it has been sold again War god Ragnarok-Bundle for €619. As usual there is a line out the door.

Update from November 22, 2022 (8 a.m.): Around Black Friday (November 25) and Cyber Monday (November 28), the major mail order companies are running at full speed. Currently exceptionally cheap are:

On the other hand, it looks less exciting with the consoles, because the PS5 drops at Amazon *, MediaMarkt *, Saturn *, Otto * or Müller are about two weeks ago. It’s quite possible that Sony and retailers are currently taking a “Black Friday” break of sorts and focusing on selling the discounted games and controllers.

Update from November 21, 2022 (12:05 PM): After just a three-day hiatus, Sony Interactive is once again unlocking a PS5 batch – on PlayStation Direct, of course. As usual there is a line out the door. Sold while stocks last.

Update from November 21, 2022 (11am): The disc-less Xbox Series S is an ideal companion to the PlayStation 5 – as part of Amazon’s Black Friday week, the console is available this Monday for a pretty spectacular €222*, just half the MSRP of a digital PlayStation 5 version.

Those who want to stay true to the Sony universe can already buy Christmas presents: Amazon now sells Electronic Arts games such as FIFA23, Madden NFL 23 or F1 22 with a big discount*. FIFA23 for the PS5, for example, is available for €47.99* – the PS4 version for €39.99.

Message dated November 21, 2022 (09:00): Welcome to the Black Friday edition of the PS5 ticker: towards the weekend, retailers such as Amazon*, MediaMarkt* and Saturn* are offering each other prices and bargains.

Because now the Christmas business is entering the hot phase. So if you’re looking to stock up on PS5 games, controllers or memory expansions, now you have a great opportunity.

Current highlights:

  • DualSense controllers in different colors for €49.99 at MediaMarkt* and Saturn*
  • DualSense controller + FIFA23 for €99.99 (RRP €119.99) at Amazon*
  • WD_Black SN850 SSD hard drive with 1 TB and heat sink for € 119 at MediaMarkt* and Saturn*

Since almost two weeks have passed since the last Amazon drop, many customers are speculating that the market leader will launch another campaign. Statistically, it’s about time, but Black Friday traffic speaks against it – so it’s possible Amazon is waiting for next week.

Chances are that this will be the case War god Ragnarokbundle, which currently accounts for the lion’s share of Sony retail shipments. Amazon recently sold the following packs (Prime account* required!):

Recently more frequent PS5 drops (including PlayStation Direct, Medimax and Euronics) plus the pre-order campaign at MediaMarkt and Saturn have significantly increased the supply of factory fresh consoles on Ebay*. However, if you buy it now, you should still expect to spend more than € 700 – at auctions, the final results are still significantly higher. We assume that the situation on Ebay will only noticeably ease after the Christmas period and the turn of the year. Until then, you will have to live with outrageous rates.

In recent days and weeks, many households have received the new advances from their electricity supplier – and in many cases have come out of the blue. If you are looking for a new provider in this context, you kill two birds with one stone. Because E as in Simple offers the PlayStation 5 with two controllers at the Mein Öko rate* with an additional payment of € 199. The contract period is twelve months, so the customer does not have to make a long-term commitment.

E like SIMPLE* currently indicates four weeks as delivery time. Those who conclude the contract in November and transfer the additional payment quickly will most likely receive the PS5 package in time for Christmas.

O2’s premium offer* is also still available: when signing a contract in the O2 Free M rate with 20 GB, customers will receive a Sony Xperia 1 IV in addition to a PlayStation 5. The monthly costs depend on whether you are already an O2 customer or not (affects the connection price, for example). All details and conditions can be found on the campaign website*.
