In the Humble Bundle you get 6 ingenious role-playing games for a small price

You need to pick up your party first! Fans of classic role-playing games will know this exclamation, but today, for once, they can let someone else do the work. Because Humble does the collecting for you and has put together a remarkable bundle of some really great old-school RPGs.

You get a total of 6 full-fledged role-playing games in one package and pay about 20 euros for them. In addition, the pack also includes a discount for the roguelite Myth Force and two DLCs for the Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate.

These role-playing games are included in the current Humble Bundle

Our pen-and-paper master and old-school RPG expert Fabiano gives you an overview of what games you can get and what to expect in them.

Fabiano Uslenghi

The expert: Fabiano has been playing classic role-playing games from a young age and for him these RPGs are among the absolute kings. For all his love for great open-world RPGs, he says nothing beats a group of extraordinary heroes embarking on a fantastic journey of adventure and triumphing in strategically challenging battles. Fabiano’s love for party role-playing games and character systems has now spread to the world beyond his computer. In his spare time, he plays classic role-playing games on pen and paper, such as DSA or Dungeons & Dragons.

Pathfinder: Revenge of the Righteous

Our expert says: If you ask me, the Humble Bundle is worth it for this game alone. After all, Wrath of the Righteous is the youngest representative in the entire pack and one of the best role-playing games of recent years. On Steam, this RPG masterpiece usually costs over 40 euros. But you also get one of the most comprehensive role-playing games ever. As a commander, you lead an army against the demonic armies of Hell and discover the mighty, mythical powers of your own hero. Wrath of the Righteous features an epic story, lovable characters, and a wonderfully deep character system.

Neverwinter Nights: Complete Adventure

Our expert says: Unlike most other classic RPGs, there’s no partying in Neverwinter Nights – apart from a lone mercenary. But that doesn’t change the fact that one of the best fantasy stories to experience in an RPG awaits you here. At first it’s about the cure of a disgusting plague, but soon a bigger intrigue unravels. Neverwinter Nights may look a bit old-fashioned graphically, even in the Enhanced Edition, but it offers more action and is still expanding thanks to a vibrant modding community.

Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2

Our expert says: It all started for me with Baldur’s Gate. These games really got me interested in party RPGs. Although these classics are now many years old, they can still be played beautifully in my opinion. In addition to a few graphical improvements, the Enhanced Editions also brought new content, but the real power of Baldur’s Gates is in the story anyway. Here you will meet more exciting characters than anywhere else and face decisions that will keep you up for more than one night. In detail, it is about the journey of a fatherless foundling who is first in a vendetta and then in search of his fate.

Planescape: Torment

Our expert says: Torment translates as much as pain and that awaits you in this game too. At least, if you’re lazy to read. Because Planescape is a peculiar beast. A role-playing game that confronts you with more text than some novel series. Some may not like this, but others will be intellectually satisfied here like no other PC game. Planescape especially impresses with its in-depth dialogues and ideas. It poses questions that I would like to know the answer to. It sucks you further and further into its strange world, as otherwise only a good book can.

Icewind Dale: Improved Edition

Our expert says: Icewind Dale is a bit the opposite of Planescape. Because while you mainly relive an exciting story in one, Icewind Dale really gets to work. This role-playing game focuses on strategic battles that you fight with your custom party. And while I prefer well-told stories, sometimes I just crave well-designed battles. Icewind Dale has a clear focus and always knows how to motivate with new challenges. And let’s face it, DnD wouldn’t be as popular if its role and combat system weren’t convincing.
