Eintracht Frankfurt signs American talent Aaronson | hessenschau.de

As expected, Eintracht Frankfurt has secured the services of American talent Paxten Aaronson. The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a long-term contract with the Bundesliga club.

Paxten Aaronson signed a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, but strictly speaking the American is not yet a Bayern player. The 19-year-old’s working document is only valid from January 2023. More importantly, however, the long-term contract runs until the summer of 2027.

“With Paxten Aaronson we have been able to sign a highly sought-after and talented player who will give our offensive even more flexibility in the future,” enthused Markus Krösche. The team leader also made it clear that the youngster will not be an immediate reinforcement, but must be built up carefully. “We will give Paxten the time it needs to get used to the new environment and develop as well as possible,” Krösche promised.

Brother Brenden plays in England

Aaronson last played for the Philadelphia Union in the American Major League Soccer (MLS). Last season he reached the final with the club from his hometown, but lost to Los Angeles FC after penalties. Aaronson made 37 appearances in the MLS, scoring four goals. Many more will follow in Frankfurt.

“I am a player who moves with a lot of speed, who likes to conquer the ball and then switch quickly,” said the brand new acquisition, who received number 30 in Frankfurt. “It’s also the kind of football Eintracht tries to play. It suits my style of play well.”

Paxten Aaronson is considered to be very talented and in high demand. Before him, his older brother Brenden Aaronson dared to make the leap to Europe. The now 22-year-old moved from Philadelphia to Salzburg in 2021, before signing for Premier League club Leeds United this summer. The rumored fee: almost 33 million euros. A similar development is also expected from Paxten.
