nightfall

Dark thoughts like to pull up their ugly faces at night. There are a few theories as to why this happens. Researchers blame our caveman brains, which in the days of the hunter-gatherers looked for danger before bed. Worries, minor and major, also seem worse at 4 a.m. because the body is at rest. Among other things, the hormone melatonin, which the body increasingly releases during this period, is responsible for this condition. However, if we are awake during this time, our mood drops due to the increased concentration of melatonin – and with it our confidence in being able to solve problems.
