Christian Pulisic is the big star in the national team, no other player in the US team has an estimated market value of 38 million euros. The 24-year-old is also leading the field, assisting Timothy Weah in Monday’s World Cup opener against Wales.

At Chelsea, on the other hand, Pulisic does not get beyond the role of a side player. In the current Premier League season, he played just 414 minutes, playing his only full-length competitive game in the League Cup against Manchester City.
There are now more and more voices that Pulisic should try his luck elsewhere. “In the long run, he needs to play in a team where he gets more playing time,” ex-US international Eric Wynalda advised him recently. “Pulisic should go to a smaller club than Chelsea,” agrees Premiere League pundit Jamie Carragher.
After three and a half seasons in London, Chelsea have probably buried all hope in the 24-year-old. After the turn of the year, the owner consortium around Todd Boehly apparently wants to exchange ideas with interested parties and listen for trade offers. Pulisic still has a contract with the “Blues” until the end of the 2023/24 season.
According to transfer expert Ekrem Konur, three well-known clubs have already shown interest: In addition to Inter Milan and Juventus Turin, his training club Borussia Dortmund should also work on a commitment.

Pulisic had won both the B-Junior (2015) and the A-Junior championship (2016) with the BVB youth teams. After his promotion to the first team, the right winger was regarded as one of the rising stars in the Bundesliga and immediately won the DFB Cup in his first year.
At the age of 21, he then moved to Chelsea for a whopping 64 million euros. However, after three and a half years of limited sporting development, a return action should be cheaper.
“We will do our homework and act if necessary.”

Does Dortmund therefore get Pulisic in the winter? At last weekend’s general meeting, BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl did not categorically exclude newcomers, saying: “We will do our homework and act if necessary.”
Those responsible in Dortmund generally have experience with returning former players. For example, BVB brought Shinji Kagawa, Nuri Sahin and Mario Götze back to Dortmund for a second time – albeit usually with moderate success.
